Let me share my personal experience. My mother was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 1997. With the passage of time, her knees got badly affected and she couldn't walk. Slowly and gradually, it affected her spine. Fortunately, I met with Dr. Wazahat Taqvi, who is a spine and orthopedic surgeon in Ali Medical Centre. I must say that, the way he counselled and explain disease and solution to the patients, is indeed God gifted skill, he is blessed with. He convinced me that my mother should undergo the total knee replacement surgery for both knees. I was earlier skeptical but then after lot of research, got convinced to further convince my mother for this surgery. To cut the long story short, last night my mother underwent this urgery for both knees and kind of pre and post operation surgery care extended from Dr. Taqvi including his staff at OT and then in patient department, is indeed commendable. I would like to pay my gratitude to Nurse Gulshan, Huma, and all the medical care staff who took care of my mother day and night. In a crippled health system of Pakistan, where infections prevention protocols are so weak, I must commend IPC efforts of Ali Medical Centre but on top of it, professionalism of Dr. Wazahat Taqvi who did this 06 hours surgery of my mother, am short of words. All prayers for him.

I had a chance to interact with Dr.Wajahat to consult for my father’s back ache. He is 70 yrs+ and got a fractured T6. Been in an active lifestyle this caught him very badly. We took our mom for an I&D procedure in emergency to Dr. Wazahat. We were facing Alot of trouble with the proper diagnosis at that time. My mother had Alot of fluid trapped in her right Thigh, which was causing infections and her vital stats were constantly in alarming ranges. He was an amazing support and guided us through everything from the emergency to admission, timely involved other consultants like anesthesiologist, sonologist etc, and was always available in person/on call for his guidance. He did the surgery at Ali Medical, kept in contact even when we were discharged from the hospital.
